Background
I am often asked, "what's with the mountains on your web site?" Well, I like to climb mountains and I'm fascinated by them because of the risks involved. Alex Lowe once said that the greatest climber is the one who is having the most fun. I would argue that the greatest climber is the one who has the most safe fun (i.e. by recognizing the risks and minimizing them). A great insurance agent is a lot like a great climber: he or she is adept at recognizing and managing risk.
My History. In 2001, I graduated from St. John's University with a B.A. in Chemistry and Mathematics. Afterward, I went on to pursue a Ph.D. in computational chemistry at the University of British Columbia. This is where I developed my liking for mountains, but also realized that I have a greater passion for financial services than for chemistry. From 2005 to 2009, I held several positions at ING Direct, finishing as the manager of the Loan Specialist team. I enjoyed this position greatly, but of course, there was no risk involved, so I naturally switched to insurance.
